Dan Costa, one of the contributors to PC Magazine, is conducting his own one-man hair loss trial. Dan was given a HairMax LaserComb to test out and wants to see if it will in fact work.
He admits to having unsuccessfully dabbled with Rogaine when he was in his 20s, and has no desire to take Propecia due it its side effects, so as a gadget geek the LaserComb could be the ideal solution to his hair loss problem.
The HairMax LaserComb received FDA clearance at the end of January to make the claim that it: “Promotes hair growth in men with androgenetic alopecia with Norwood Hamilton scale IIa to V and Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV.”
It is only the third product to receive approval from the FDA to make claims of hair growth, the other two being Rogaine and Propecia.
Despite being very skeptical Dan says he will use the LaserComb no less than three times a week for 15 minutes at a time. He is going to post new photos every week to chart his progress.
The trial is expected to last 3 months.
