Why do we go bald and get gray hair?

Why do we lose our hair?  Minneapolis TV station WCCO sent reporter Ben Tracy out on the street to find out what people think about going bald.   Tracy also went to a hair loss clinic to find out the cause of hair loss and to learn what makes our hair turn gray.

Some interesting facts you will learn:

- The average head has about 100-150,000 hair follicles.

- As we get older most people will lose some hair.

- It’s not just a problem for men — some 30 million women in the USA also deal with hair loss.

  1. Josh said,

Every now and again as a follically jinxed male (born with a far-back hairline, thin hair, sabotaged further by Male-Baldness-Pattern and unable to grow a full beard!), I check these hair-loss sites hoping for some news that would certainly change my life and my appearance beyond all recognision. Oh, how these little strands of growth affect on my life, especially my love life!

Yet, despite the millions being spent and the billions to be made, and despite the fantastic advances in science and biotechnology, alas… there is still no cure. What’s it all about?
