Dandruff problems increase in winter

The air has a cool, crisp feeling and that can only mean one thing – winter is here. For many, the chill in the air conjures up images of snowball fights and cozy holidays with family. For others, the chilly weather conditions mean only one thing…the thought of dry, itchy skin.

According to dermatologist Dr. Barbara Schell, there’s one skin problem that’s a top concern for many: dandruff.

“Many people forget that their scalp is skin, and just like the skin on the rest of the body, it needs to be protected. A surprising 26% of people who suffer from dandruff experience severe symptoms including persistent tightness, irritation, dryness and excessive, visible flakes.”

For those suffering there are medicated shampoos that can help.   Medicated shampoos like Head & Shoulders can help relieve symptoms of severe dandruff.  Unfortunately a side effect some medicated shampoos have is to leave your hair feeling very dry and dull.

To overcome this problem Head & Shoulders have developed new anti-dandruff shampoos that still contain 2% pyrinthione zinc, but also have other ingredients that leave your hair soft and manageable.

Head & Shoulders “Restoring Shine” has natural plant extracts that leave your hair shiny while still relieving the symptoms of severe dandruff.
