While Britney Spears is attracting world-wide attention for her hair shaving antics, she is by no means the first female artist to shave her head.
Sinead O’Connor, the Irish singer, had the bald look in the early 90s. Natalie Portman, who had long brown hair, shaved her head for “V for Vendetta,” which was released last year. Demi Moore shaved her head for her role as the first female Navy SEAL in “G.I. Jane” in 1997. Sigourney Weaver shaved her locks for “Alien3″ in 1992. Erykah Badu got rid of her hair in 2001 and went lockless to the 2003 Grammy awards, saying that her shaved head indicated “spiritual cleansing.”
